Movies I'd Show at Conway's New Theatre

The Cinemark tickets for the preview event this Thursday night reads that "Not all movies shown are new releases." Got me thinking about some of the movies that I'd love to see at the new XD Audiorium with all-digital projection and sound sitting in the comfy stadium seating.

Obviously Gone With the Wind has to be up on the list just because of the grandeur and I've never seen it on a big screen. I never saw Avatar, so that could be cool. I've seen six Star Wars at the best theaters, so I'm covered there.

I'm a big fan of 'B' movies, but for this special event, here are my favorite movies, all worthy to be considered for the 12 screens: The Shining, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, The Deer Hunter, Cool Hand Luke, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Silence of the Lambs, Exorcist, Jaws, A Few Good Men, Shawshank Redemption, Dead Poets Society, Fargo, All the President's Men, A River Runs Through It, St. Elmo's Fire, any of the Godfather movies, any of the Rocky movies, Fight Club, Back to the Future (I), Revenge of the Nerds, Driving Miss Daisy, The Color Purple, and Out of Africa.

Of all the Travolta movies, my favorite is Urban Cowboy, don't know if I could do two hours of Grease or Saturday Night Fever on a screen that size. Of course, the BeeGees soundtrack would sound fab!

I'm boycotting anything with Julia Roberts in it - with that size screen, that just too many teeth, plus, she ruined 'Eat, Pray, Love' for me. I'd like to include Rocky Horror Picture show in the list, but that's just too easy.

Glad to have the new Cinemark in town and opening to the public this weekend Fri., Dec. 10! I hope to see you all there!
